Boonville - Beatrice Carman Roberts, 91, formerly of Kortenaer Village Apartments, passed away peacefully at Sunset Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center on November 12, 2013. The daughter of Thomas D. Mulhearn of Utica, and Elizabeth "Betty" Longway of Turin, she was born in Utica on March 31, 1922. Beatrice was a graduate of the Palmer Method Beauty School, and employed her skills at the Elite Beauty Shop in Utica. During WWII she also worked at Savage Arms. Beatrice married Daryl J. Carman of Old Forge on November 11, 1944 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Utica. She has lived in Syracuse, West Leyden, Rome, Bradenton, FL, and in Old Forge, where she served as Matron of the O.E.S. Chapter #449. Following her divorce from Daryl she was married to Thomas Roberts of Rome in 1975. Mr. Roberts passed away in 1988. Beatrice is survived by her sons, Richard Daryl and Thomas Earl, both of Alder Creek, five grandchildren; AD2 Richard D. Carman II USN, Le Moore NAS, CA, AE2 Matthew T. Carman USN (Res), Chazy, NY, Candice M. Carman, Waterville, NY, Melissa Kendall, and Austin Thomas (Kimberly) Carman, both of Port Leyden; three great-granddaughters: Addison Grace Carman, King George, VA, and Andrea and Samantha Carman, both of Port Leyden. A memorial service and interment will be held in the spring of 2014 at Turin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
