Barbara Vlasic, 93, a former resident of Gloversville, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Boonville where she had resided since July, 2002. A native of, Homestead, PA., she was born on December 25, 1912, a daughter of Thomas and Barbara Fustina Stosic. At the age of two her family returned to their old home in the Village of Svjana, Croatia, which was formerly a part of Yugoslavia. On October 31, 1931, she returned to the United States, settling in Gloversville, where she resided for many years. While living in Gloversville, she was employed as a glove maker in the textile industry. On November 21, 1931, Barbara was married to Michael Vlasich in Gloversville. Mr. Vlasich died on September 12, 1982. Later she moved to Utica, residing there for many years. Mrs. Vlasic was a member of St. Frances DeSales Catholic Church of Gloversville, and a life member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, Lodge number 305. Mrs. Vlasic is survived by a daughter; Mrs. Barbara Ann Jensen, Byram, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at St. Josephï¿(TM)s Church of Boonville, NY. Friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service will be on Friday, June 30, at 11 A.M. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Arrangements by Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., Boonville, NY.
