Boonville - Barbara J. Schweinsberg, 91, a longtime resident of West St., and former resident of Highmarket Rd., Constableville, most recently of Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. Barbara was born at the Harvey family residence on Summit St., Boonville, on August 28, 1925, a daughter of C. Ray and May A. Humphrey Harvey. She grew up in Boonville, graduating from Boonville High School with the Class of 1943. On May 6, 1944, Barbara was united in marriage at the Harvey family residence with August J. "Bus" Schweinsberg, who was serving in WWII at that time. Mr. Schweinsberg, owner of C. Ray Harvey Coal Co., later becoming Schweinsberg Oil Co., died on June 28, 1963. After her husband's death, Barbara operated the oil business for three years until selling the business to Mr. Julian Egnaczyk, owner of Boonville oil Co. For several years Barbara was employed as a nurse's aide at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville. On May 10, 1975, Barbara was married to Donald Regetz, at the First Baptists Church of Boonville. For twenty three years after that she lived near Constableville, where Mr. Regetz operated a dairy farm. The couple then retired spending half the year in Boonville on West St., and the winter months in Leesburg, FL. Mr. Regetz died in 2006 and afterwards, Barbara lived in Oriskany Falls for a time before returning to Boonville. Barbara was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church, where she had been organist for many years. While living near Constableville she attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was also a church organist. She is survived by her children; Richard (Sue Harriet) Schweinsberg, Woodgate, Margaret (Peggy) and Newt Faulknor, Hilton, NY, Barbara (Ken) Keeler, Manheim, PA, Patricia (Duane) Wheeler, Ava, Deborah (John) Bruno, Oriskany Falls; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Young, Lincoln, Neb, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Margaret Hays, Mary Wendt, Rae Marcy, and Ruth Hughes and by one brother, Robert Harvey. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the Boonville United Methodist Church, with interment in the spring in Boonville Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
