Forestport - Barbara J. Ingersoll, 58, wife of William C., of State Route 28, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 13, 2019 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare. Barbara was born on July 5, 1960 in Utica, a daughter of Robert R. and Barbara Lemmon McGough. She was raised in Forestport, graduating with the Class of 1978 from Adirondack Central School. For a time she was employed as a hostess at Keyes Restaurant, Forestport. Through her employment at Rome Specialty in Forestport she met William C. Ingersoll. On May 23, 1981 the couple was united in marriage, settling in the hamlet of Forestport, before moving to their current home in 1987. She was employed at the Buffalo Head Restaurant for a time, and most recently was an assembler at Mohawk-Electro in Barneveld. Barbara cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Besides her husband William, Barbara is survived by her children: William C. Ingersoll, Jr., Barneveld, John S. (Erin) Ingersoll, Port Leyden, Jessica L. (John) Fitzgerald, Hinckley, and Robert W. Ingersoll and his fianc Rebecca Greene, Holland Patent; grandchildren: Shawn, Jacob, Adam, Ethan, Daniel, Steven, John, Katelyn and Bradley. She is also survived by her siblings: William (Becky) McGough, Woodgate, Robert (Sara)McGough, Remsen, Mary Ann McGough, Croghan, Dawn (Kyle) Schweinsberg, Old Forge, John (Rachele) McGough, Ava, Trish (Bill) Many, Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm at St. Patricks Church, Forestport with Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 19, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
