Boonville - Augusta L. "Gussie" Trenham, 81, Old West Leyden Road, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Boonville after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Boonville, she was born on September 15, 1928, a daughter of Arlo and Nina (Walker) Betsinger. Gussie graduated from Boonville High School with the Class of 1946 and on September 15, 1946, she was united in marriage with Spencer E. "Dick" Trenham in Rome. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm on the Golden Road in the Town of Leyden. They purchased the former Reinhuber Farm near Boonville in 1958, and moved to that location in 1973. She had a great love of animals, and enjoyed operating the dairy farm with her husband and their family. In addition to her husband Dick, she is survived by a son, John E. of Boonville; six sisters, Helen Sprague of Moberly, MO, Mary Kowalik of Boonville, Mabel and Hugh Trainor of East Palestine, OH, Thelma Iseneker of Boonville, Rose and James Longway of Constableville, and Peggy Kafka of Boonville. Gussie was pre-deceased by a daughter, Bonnie M. Sullivan on April 29, 1998, a son, Spencer "Skip" Trenham III, on May 28, 2003, and a sister, Carol Washburn. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where the Rev. William A. Mudge, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Boonville, will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
