Boonville- Audrey (Mackey) Kolasa, 84, of West St. wife of Edward, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a long illness. She was born in Constableville, on February 21, 1928, a daughter of Andrew and Clara Hoffert Mackey. Audrey graduated from Lyons Falls High School, with the Class of 1946; in September, 1946, she began her employment at Gould Paper Co. Lyons Falls, as a messenger girl, advancing to the position of Production Control Clerk, retiring after thirteen years to raise her family. On August 29, 1953, Audrey was united in marriage with Edward Kolasa, at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. This was a loving union lasting for over 59 years. For many years, Mrs. Kolasa was employed as bookkeeper for Kolasa Body Shop of Boonville. Mrs. Kolasa attended St. Mary's Church, West Leyden. Audrey loved her children, grandchildren and family. She greatly enjoyed and never missed attending a dance competition of her granddaughters, or sports event of her grandsons. She also enjoyed attending horse shows, shopping, gardening, raising flowers and going for rides. Audrey especially enjoyed using a computer and keeping in touch with family and friends by e-mail. In addition to her husband, Ed, Audrey is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Lori and Barry Pfendler, Jeanne and Bill Szucs, all of Boonville; her cherished grandchildren, Drew and Matt Pfendler, and Brittany and Morgan Szucs, all of Boonville; one sister, Germaine Clute, Glenfield, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, William (Stub) Mackey, Bernie Mackey, Reginald Mackey, Richard Mackey, Ronald Mackey, Mary Lou Wakefield, Winifred Podkowka and Betty Ossont. Her Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in the spring will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. Calling hours are Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
