Arline Grower

Boonville- Arline Geiskopf Grower, 92, widow of William, and resident of Fitch Rd., passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. Born on the Geiskopf Homestead in Boonville on May 1, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Regina Lallier Geiskopf. Arline attended Boonville Central School, graduating in 1940. She then attended the Utica School of Commerce graduating in 1942 before working for Hoffman and Dudo in Lowville. Arline also worked at Sheffield Farms Milk Plant before beginning her 36 years career as a registered cardiology technologist and registered histologist at Faxton Hospital and Centrex in Utica, NY. On December 4th 1948, Arline was united in marriage to Bill Grower, in St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, a blessed union of sharing 59 years of family and memories with daughters /son - Sharon Grower and Greg Grower both of Boonville, and Martha Kowalik of Albany. She is also survived by grandchildren - Marsha Caloro of Syracuse, Bonnie Waters of Rome, Ryan Kowalik of Albany, and Great Grandchild Zachary Rogers of Rome, NY. Arline and her late husband Bill, were active lifetime members at the Sampson's Veteran and Naval Museum in Romulus, New York. Arline is best known for her avid love of photography. Arline has won many accolades with her photography, and has had photos displayed at Dodge Pratt , in Adirondack Life Magazine, on local phone book covers, yearbooks, and more. She was also well known as the "Green Hornet" from speeding to Utica and back while employed at Faxton Childrens Hospital , cheating at Pitch (her favorite card game), and for her amazing molasses cookies. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 2:00 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville.
