Boonville- Anna L. (Nelson) Stocklosa Borwick, 85, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, while surrounded by the loving care of her family. Affectionately known as Ann or Mom, she was a native of Boonville and lifelong resident of Rt. 12. Ann was born on June 1, 1933, a daughter of Robert P. and Anna Capron Nelson. She received her education at the Dean Road Rural School, later attending and graduating from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1950. Afterwards she attended and graduated from The Utica School of Commerce. Ann was first employed as a secretary for the Remsen GLF. For over 25 years she was employed for the Avon Cosmetic Company of Rye, NY, first as a door to door cosmetic saleslady in the Boonville area before retiring after many years as Avon Co. Central New York District sales manager. For many years Ann was a well-known and treasured cake baker and cake decorator in the Boonville area, making cakes for weddings and many occasions. Ann will be fondly remembered as a lady who brought much pleasure and joy to others through her cosmetic sales, cake baking, and service to others as a member of the Catholic Womens Club, of St. Patricks Church, Forestport, where she served as club treasurer and was active in the operation of the churchs food bank. For many years she found much joy in serving as an Election Poll Clerk throughout the Boonville election districts. In 1999, and for several years thereafter, Ann greatly enjoyed her employment in her sons traveling carnival, Stocks Family Amusements, where she worked in the games and in the cotton candy and candied apple concession. On October 11, 1951, Ann was united in marriage with Joseph Stocklosa, at St. Mary of the Snows Church, Otter Lake. Mr. Stocklosa passed away on January 25, 1970. On June 5, 1971, Ann was united in marriage with Edward J. Borwick, at St. Patricks Church, Forestport. Mr. Borwick passed away on November 29, 1989. Ann was a member of St. Patricks Church, Forestport. She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Robert (Jo Ann) Stocklosa, Westernville; one daughter Geraldine Stocklosa and her partner, Cherie Scaia, Syracuse; a step son, Edward (Barbara) Borwick, Jr., Boonville; grandchildren, Willie Jean (Jeff) Kimball, Port Byron, Lesley (Josh) Fried, Long Mont, CO, Ryan Borwick, Lancaster, NY and Amanda (Bill) Gruby, Westernville. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Nelson, who passed away in childhood and by a step son, Martin J. Borwick. Her Funeral will be on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 12:15 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 1:00 P.M. at St. Josephs Church, of Christ Our Hope Parish, Charles St. Boonville, where Rev. Thomas Ward, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be in the spring in St. Josephs Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday, from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon. Ann greatly loved and cared for her many feline friends; memorial contributions may be made to Spring Farm Cares 3364 State Rt. 12, Clinton, NY 13323.
