Anita P. Chaisson

February 24, 1930 — December 15, 2013

Boonville- Anita P. Chaisson, 83, widow of Joseph A., passed away on Monday, December 15, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford. Anita was born on February 24, 1930 in the Town of Western, a daughter of Benjamin and Lillian Farr Platt. She grew up in the Boonville area, where she received her schooling. Anita was united in marriage with Joseph A. Chaisson on May 12, 1962 at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. Mr. Chaisson, a retiree of the Boonville Division of Ethan Allen, and a WWII veteran passed away on December 27, 2002. Following her marriage to Joe, the couple made their home on Route 26, West Leyden, where they raised their family, until 1991, when they moved to Kortenaer Village Apartments, Boonville. For twenty years, Anita was employed at Ethan Allen Furniture Co., Boonville. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Sunset Nursing Home, where she worked in the OT Dept. and helped with resident activities. Mrs. Chaisson was of the Catholic faith, and enjoyed cooking, as well as country and western music and dances. Anita is survived by her five daughters and a son, Henrietta (Fred) Wittwer, Boonville, Linda (Robert) Verdgeline, Rome, Denise (William) Warren, New Caney, TX, Joseph Chaisson, West Leyden, Terry (Douglas) Crumb, Owings, Mills, MD, and Karen Levensailor and fiance Shawn Larkin, Rome. She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and her sister Geraldine Grogan, Holland Patent. She was predeceased by a great-grandson Brett Levensailor, her brothers, Walter, Roy, Leonard, Gordon, Lyle and Robert, and her sister Marion Meus. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment services will be held this Spring at the Westernville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to The National Parkinson Foundation, P.O.
