Boonville- Andrew Seelman, 86, of Sunset Ave., affectionatley known as "Andy" passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. A native of Sunset Corners, in the Town of Lewis, he was born on July 28, 1924, a son of Andrew C. and Effie Goodhines Seelman. He grew up on Mohawk Hill on the Duppert Road, attended Constableville High School, and during his senior year high school Mr. Seelman enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the 11 97th Combat Engineers Unit in the European Theater of WWII. Upon returning from the war, Mr. Seelman was employed as a truck driver for Rallston Parena Feed Co. in Boonville. In 1952, Mr. Seelman founded Boonville Vending Machine Co. a business that he operated throughout the North Country until he retired in 1990. In the late 1960's Mr. Seelman was a co-founder of the Lost Trail Snowmobile Club of Boonville. An avid snowmobiler, he was a current member of the club, and through the years he logged thousands of miles of snowmobile trail riding. Andy was named Grand marshall of the Boonville Snow Festival Torch Light Parade in 2008. Andy was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed fishing for lake trout and bass on his many trips to Lake Placid, Stillwater Reservoir, and Lake George. He was of the Catholic Faith, a Charter member of Boonville Elks Club BPOE # 2158, Harland J. Henessey Post VFW, Charles J. Love Post American Legion, both of Boonville. He was a former member of Boonville Fire Co. He is survived by the love of his life, Betty, of thirty one years, two daughters, Sandra (James) Pusateri, Avon, NY; Susan Pfendler, two grandchildren, Tom (Kelly) Pfendler, Rebecca(Ralph) Scialo, both Rochester; two great grandchildren, Colby and Dylan Pfendler, Rochester; and a step son, Robert (Barbara) Goppert, Boise, Idaho. He was predeceased by two grand children, Tony Puseteri and Tara Pfendler. Also surviving is one sister, Rosemary (James) Dolan, Boonville. He was predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Bourgeois and her husband, Joseph, and Helen Seelman, and her husband, Donald. Andy is also survived by Betty's children, Warren, Jr. (Susie) Levensailor, Port Leyden, Michael (Cindy) Levensailor, Old Forge, Marylou (Dale) Hawk, Port Leyden, Julie Stanbro, and Janice Parrish, both Boonville; Christopher (Crystal) Fox, Remsen, and their children, and grandchildren. Visitation hours are Thursday 6-9 P.M. and Friday 2-4 & 6-9 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where members of the Boonville Elks Lodge # 2158, will meet for a service on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. Fr. Sean Patrick O'brien will conduct a Christian Wake Service on Friday at 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home, and members of the Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post VFW, and the Tun Tavern Marine Corps League will meet on Friday at7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville.
