Mrs. Alberta (Arthur) Edwards, 99, of Genesee St., formerly of Dutch Hill Road, near Forestport, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006, at the Martin Luther Home in Clinton. Alberta was born in Wethersfield, Town of Trenton, N.Y. the first child of the late John R. and Minnie May Eaton Arthur. She grew up in Barneveld and New Port. After their marriage the couple lived in Holland Patent. For twenty five years they owned and operated a dairy farm on Dutch Hill Road, in 1958, they purchased a farm in West Winfield, which they operated until 1971, when they retired moving to Cooperstown. After Mr. Edwardï¿(TM)s death, Alberta moved to Utica. On July 25, 1923, Alberta was wedded to David Edwards, who had recently arrived in Holland Patent via Ysgubor, Betts Garmon, Wales and Lake Crystal MN. Theirs was a beautiful union interrupted only by Davidï¿(TM)s passing on March 14, 1983, after sixty years of wedded companionship. From this merger an issue of five children resulted, namely: Beverly Wood Hulett, who passed away in Utica in her 74th year, Eleanor Burdick, Lima, NY, David Arthur Edwards, Utica, Carole Haley, Columbus, OH., and Robert Alan Edwards, and wife, Paulette, Eustis, Fla., Alberta is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alberta was predeceased by six siblings; Orville, Morris, Kathryn Broadbent, Beatrice Wall, Raymond and Lynn Arthur. Albertaï¿(TM)s family feels a great and deep appreciation to Dr. D. Christopher Clark, who was her primary care physician for many years, and also to Dr. George Tomy for his excellent care, as well as to the Martin Luther Homeï¿(TM)s "Maple view Staff." Her Funeral Services will be Friday at 1 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Olden Barneveld Cemetery, Town of Trenton. Calling hours are Friday from 12 Noon until the funeral.
