~~Boonville- Alan Paul Brown, 67, of Jackson Hill Road, husband of Elaine, passed away suddenly in the comfort of his home, on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Alan was born in Boonville, on June 26, 1950, a son of Francis I. and Ann L. Ackerman Brown. He grew up on the Crofoot Hill Road, Constableville, and began his education at Constableville Central School. Later he moved with his family to Talcottville, where he attended the Talcottville Rural School, before completing his education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville, where he graduated with the Class of 1969. In 1970, Mr. Brown entered the U.S. Navy, where he was educated in Electronic Technology. He served his country state side and was stationed in Vietnam on the USS Dewey. He was honorably discharged in 1976. After serving his country, Alan returned to Boonville and on May 6, 1978, he was united in marriage with Elaine M. Williamson, at St. Marys Church, Constableville. Thereafter the couple settled at their home on Jackson Hill Road. From 1978, until the store closed many years later, Mr. Brown was employed as an electrical technician and radio and television repairman first for Ed Schnabl and Carl Hillyer and later for Jeff and Kathy Graver at Adirondack Music and Electronic Store on Main St. in Boonville. After his employment at the Music store, Alan was employed as a clerk at C. Hughes Hardware Store, Boonville, retiring in 2016. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Josephs Church, Boonville. He greatly enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and snowmobiles in the past and recently playing guitar and jamming with various other musicians, gardening, hiking, snow shoeing, rides on his bike and walks in nature. He also enjoyed his Wednesday night card playing and Friday night dominos. For many years after he retired from Adirondack Music, Alan found great enjoyment and satisfaction in helping many people by repairing televisions, radios and other household electronics. In addition to his wife, Elaine, Alan is survived by one daughter, Danielle Brown, and her boyfriend, Brad Darling, Constableville; a granddaughter, Molly; two brothers, Wayne Brown and wife, Melanie, Constableville and William Brown and wife, Cynthia, Ava; six sisters, Judith and husband, Robert Kohler, Port Leyden, Carolyn and husband, Ronald Willson, Durham, NC, Susan and husband, Fred Rocker, Port Leyden, Sally and husband, Bob Bubel, Sodus, Betty and David Poore, Parish and Teressa Latona and husband, David Strube, Little Falls and many nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Randy Brown in 2002, and a cousin, Glenn Thompson. Also surviving is his father in law, Milton J. Williamson, Constableville, and his brother in law, David M. (Joan) Williamson, Constableville, and sister in law, Darlene J. (Wayne) Kirk, Boonville. He was predeceased by his mother in law, Helen V. Williamson, in 2013. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 30, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Josephs Church, of Christ Our Hope Parish, Charles St. Boonville, with Rev. Thomas A. Ward as celebrant.
