Alan L. Lynch

Boonville- Alan Lee Lynch, 69, of Potato Hill Road, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, after a yearlong battle with cancer.


He was born in Oceanside, NY, on May 4, 1954, a son of Arthur H. and Ruth M. Royal Lynch. Alan grew up with his siblings on Woodgate Drive in Boonville, and graduated from Adirondack Central School, with the Class of 1972. While in high school he attended Howard G. Sackett BOCES Center, Glenfield, majoring in Auto Mechanics.


He was first employed for several years at Genuine Auto Parts store in Boonville. In 1988, he began his career in the heavy equipment parts department at C.J. Logging Co. of Boonville, where he retired as manager of the parts department, in 2022.


He married Elaine Davis and later the couple were divorced.


A defining aspect of Mr. Lynch’s life was his constant willingness to help and serve his neighbor, wherever and whenever the need arose. From 1973, until 1999, Alan was an active member of the Boonville Fire Department and the Boonville Fire Police, becoming an honorary member of the fire department and fire police, in 1999. He was also a member of Charles J. Love Post Sons of the American Legion, Harland Hennessey Post Auxiliary, both of Boonville, Boonville Lodge of Elks, # 2158 and a former member of Boonville Search & Rescue. Alan greatly enjoyed tinkering on small engines and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.


Alan is survived by a daughter and son in law, Amanda and Henry Jasek; his step mother, Gen Fuller; grandchildren, Brooke and Braiden; brothers and sisters in law, Tom and Anita Lynch, Dave and Martha Lynch, Walt and Sharron Fuller, Lyle and Lynn Fuller; sisters and a brother in law, Laura Fuller, Marilyn and Ed Paluck and Louanne Sanabria. He was predeceased by a grandson, Bryan Jasek, a brother, Kualoha Donald Lynch and by sisters, Barbara Lynch and Linda Breen; his parents and stepfather, Larry Fuller.


A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at the Harland J. Hennessey Post VFW, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, beginning at 12 Noon. Interment will be at a later date in Boonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made Utica Center for Development, Veteran’s Outreach Center, 726 Washington St. Utica, NY 13502. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
