Boonville- Agnes I. Cooke, 84, widow of Wayne, passed away on May 5, 2016 at the Sitrin Healthcare Center, New Hartford, where she had resided since January 2015. Agnes was born on May 12, 1931 in Canton, a daughter of William and Maude Thurston Oliver. Her younger years were spent between Canton and Watertown where she received her education. She was united in marriage to David "Bud" Dailey, and thereafter settled on the Norton Road, Town of Leyden, where the couple raised their family. Some years later Agnes married Wayne Cooke. Agnes was employed for several years as a custodian at South Lewis Central School, Turin. She was also employed as a certified nurse's aide for Vale Haven Homes both in Utica and Boonville. Agnes enjoyed playing pitch and bingo. She was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church, where she found great joy in serving coffee hour after the Sunday services. She was also a member of the Charles J. Love Post #406 American Legion and Harland J. Hennesey VFW Post #5538 Ladies Auxiliaries, where for a time she served as president. She is survived by her children: David (Sue) Dailey, Schuyler, Jackie (Bill) Cordts, Boonville, Kevin (Sue) Dailey, Turin, Darren (Theresa) Dailey, Boonville, Janice (Andrew) Phillips, Roscoe, Alan (Sherri) Dailey, Kissimmee, FL, Lisa (William) Lawrence, Turin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Wayne, she was predeceased by an infant son, William Dailey, and her siblings William Oliver, Bertha Silva, and Florence Oliver. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 3:00 pm in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles J. Love Post #406 American Legion, 124 East Schuyler St. Boonville, the Harland J. Hennessey, VFW Post #5538, 108 Park Ave. Boonville, or to the Boonville United Methodist Church Campership Fund, 202 Main Street, Boonville, New York 13309.
