Constableville- Aaron J. Hoffert, 77, a native and life resident of Bailey Road, Town of Leyden, husband of Carol, passed into the hands of the Lord, while surroundled by his loving family, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Oneida City Hospital, Oneida, NY. He was born on February 24, 1938, a son of Joseph Albert and Magdalena Mathis Hoffert, and received his education at a rural school in the Town of Leyden. Later Mr. Hoffert was employed on the Hoffert Homestead Farm, on the Bailey road; eventually he purchased the farm naming it Sunnyside Farm. During this time, Aaron was also employed at AMF Lowville; in 1982, he sold his farm and for several years thereafter Mr. Hoffert was employed at Sargeant's Chair Factory, Boonville. On February 24, 1962, he was united in marriage with Carol Hance at St. Mary's Church, Constableville. Mr. Hoffert was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. He was an avid hunter and he greatly enjoyed fishing in the Sugar and Black Rivers, and raising vegtables and flowers. He also excelled in doing carpentry work. In addition to his loving wife, Carol, Constableville, he is survived by four daughters, Julie Hoffert, Denise Hoffert and fiancee, Mike Tomassi, Melissa (Curt) Kaido, Sharon (Carl) Wood; seven grandchildren, Mr. Sandy Slawson, Brittany and Taylor Moyer, Autumn, Aaron and Andrew Wood and Matthew Kaido, three great grandchildren, Alia Bruno, Desirae and Joey Slawson and one brother, Allan J. Hoffert, Constableville. The Hoffert family extends a sincere note of thanks and appreciation to the Knoblauch family of Constableville for all of the love and support they gave to Aaron over the years. His Funeral will be Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden. Calling hours are Friday 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
