Obituary of Timothy Murphy

~~Boonville – Timothy F. Murphy, 60, passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice.

Timothy was born on September 16, 1956 in Constableville, a son of Leo F. and Jean Grenier Murphy.  He was raised in Boonville where he received his education, graduating from Adirondack Central School with the Class of 1975.  While in high school, Tim excelled on the Varsity Football, Wresting, and Track and Field teams.  He then furthered his education at Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica.  Growing up, Tim spent many hours working on the Muha Dairy Farm.  Following his education, Tim was then employed with Prowler’s Trailer Manufacturing, Bailey’s Feed Mill, and Ethan Allen Furniture Co., all of Boonville.

For a time Timothy was married to Debbie Schweinsberg, and together the couple had one son David.  For over twenty five years Timothy was employed with the New York State Dept. of Corrections, retiring from Mohawk Correctional Facility, Rome, due to illness.    Tim absolutely loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle, whether it was the time he spent getting it ready for the season, his yearly trip to Lake George Bike Week, or just a local ride.  He was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well.  Tim liked attending live music events such as the Rome Woodstock and other concerts.     He was a member of the Boonville Elks Lodge and Boonville Rod and Gun Club.

Tim had a caring and compassionate personality that was recognized by everyone he came in contact with; his devotion as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will be a memory cherished by all.

Timothy is survived by his son: David (Brooke) Murphy, Clinton, his beloved granddaughter Kailyn Murphy, his siblings: Anita (Frank) Karpinski, Colleen Bedore, Therese (Ken) Stabb, all of Boonville, Cathleen (David) Ward, Constableville, and Sue (James) Snyder, Boonville; his godfather and very special Uncle and Aunt, Aubrey (Irene) Grenier, his nieces and nephews:  Brian (Vicky) Karpinski, Jennifer Bedore (Jamie), Nikki (Jamie) Podkowka, Matthew (Tina) Ward, Stacey (Adam) Swift, Ashley (Jason) Stash, Jeffery (Kayla) Kelly, Megan Murphy, Joseph Snyder (Jennifer), James (Cassandra) Murphy; several great nieces and great-nephews and cousins, as well as his godmother, Betty Main.  Besides his parents, Tim was predeceased by his infant sister Maureen Murphy in 1954, a brother Dennis Murphy in 2008, his uncle Wilfred Grenier and his wife Mary, and a great niece Abigail Kelly.
